Introduction of Time Essay

Abraham Lincoln once said "The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time." This means that we have time to see what we live throughout life, and take the time to make the right decisions without rushing into the future. this quote is not true, in evidence in " The time Keeper", because Dor is rushing into the future. This can clearly be seen in the book "The Time Keeper"  by Mitch Albom. This novel is about how people see time a different way, how Dor rushes into time  and how time is precious according to what happens in this novel.

I Am Dor ( The Time Keeper)

I am the inventor of time
I wonder how unhappy my wife is without the children
I hear tick tock of the clock
I see the numbers on the clock
I want to live more time
I am the inventor of time

I pretend I have enough time to live
I feel the pain inside
I touch the rusty clock
I worry about my ugly illness
I cry that the end of my life is coming soon
I am the inventor of time

I understand difficult times in life
I say I'm ok when I'm really not
I dream of having more time to live
I try to forget
I hope I don't die soon
I am the inventor of time

I Dont Know Where I Am

The year 1976 on a Saturday night I was walking down in times square at midnight. Not remembering how I got here or what I was doing here. All of a sudden I felt a harsh wind blowing towards me. When I started walking towards a small light I saw and felt small rain drops; as I walked closer to the light, the more it started raining. Once I got to the light I felt someone watching me, the feeling bothered me a lot, so I walked to a different direction trying to find the person who was watching me. It turns out it was a little girl named Allison and her older brother name Joehan. I noticed the little girl crying telling her brother that I shouldn't be here. Joehan tried to quiet her down, it looked like if he didn't want me to know that I wasn't supposed to be here. All of a sudden Allison ran behind a huge rock, and behind the rock Allison had token out a giraffe leading it to me. When I ran towards the giraffe I spotted something really wrong, the giraffe had talked to me before I had started running. I stopped and started walking backwards not noticing that I had fallen into a black whole. As I was falling the words of the giraffe were going around my mind telling me why are you here, how did you find me. I remembered yelling as hard as I could, and the next thing I knew was waking up at Times Square surrounded by strangers, not knowing why I was here.

The Time keeper

The book I got is called The time keeper by Mitch Albom. I choose this book because I read that theirs these group of people who really don't know the meaning of time and their trying to find the meaning of time, and I want to follow them in that journey. This book is fiction and the theme is the true meaning of time. What I think that this book is about is like the group of people really not having enough time to do the things they have to do in a day and I think they wonder why do we even have time and they try to look for the answer of what time really means.

The Hero

"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in split of overwhelming obstacles." -Christopher Reeve

What I think that this Christopher is trying to say is that a hero is someone who is a normal human being, and it doesn't have to be someone who actually has super powers; someone who actually finds their strength to help people who are overwhelming.

I agree with Christopher because mostly when we hear the word hero we think of someone who has powers and we never think of actual people who have helped us on our darkest hours.

My hero has always been my dad. Even though he doesn't have super powers or doesn't have these  big muscles, my dad has been their since the day I was born. The main reason why my dad is my hero is because not only has he been their for me he's my best friend. I remember when I was going to enter middle school I needed to get 6 shots in a day, and I confess that im like really scared of needles. So I told my dad and I remember him telling me " be strong its not going to hurt all your life but just a second". I told him that I was going to try to be strong, and so when it was time for me to get in the room and get my shots I was really scared and I think that my dad notice that I was really scared. I remember that my dad got my hand and told me ill go in with you, and so he did. when the nurse was  finished putting all the shots I needed, I notice that my dad had not let go of my hand at all. When we got out of the room I remember my dads words telling me "Ill always be their when you need me don't be afraid to ask me for help" since that day I knew my dad was my hero
